Voters intimidated in Walcot Ward??!!

I am saddened to inform you that whilst i was on the campaign trail around Walcot Ward, many voters confided in me 'off the record' how they were intimidated by certain candidates who we won't name and shame as there's ongoing investigations as we speak...however if you too have experienced such behaviour in your ward, we would highly recommend you inform us in confidence.

SnowHill meeting review

Firstly I'd like to thank Pc's Martin holliwell and Pc Paul king for giving me a ride back and forth to the meeting this evening. The Walcot PACT meeting attendance may have been small but full of spark. Good synergy from the residents, business owners and associations. Together we are going to make much headway. All it takes is people who care about their community. Many issues were brought up about the ward and I'm sure with endurance and passion I don't see why we can't resolve many of those concerns. Stay tuned as I personally will be seen more often in the area specially in respect to youth concerns as I will be campaigning as a local candidate for the May elections...and oh yeah it was great meeting an old Badminton friend from over 25 years ago when I was a teenager at Bath Tech...that's why I love my home town of Bath, you meet friends from decades ago!! All in all the meeting was a great social evening.

Through unity in the community we can make our voices heard even more quickly. I met hundreds of residents in the Walcot Ward area yesterday over the span of five hours. I am pleased to inform the residents of London Road that Dominos Pizza late night hours have now been withdrawn due to numerous letters received from the local residents who were concerned about late night disturbance and potential drunken antisocial behaviours. Here's to Council working for the residents of Bath!

Dear Residents...what are your thoughts about Dominios Pizza in Bath wishing to extend their opening hours until 5am?! Do you agree that there is a knock on effect between this and extention in clubs hours hence the desire for such food establishments wishing to be open so late which means potential street noise for the residents who are trying to get some sleep. I understand that many of you are against such late opening hours...let your voice be heard...contact me today and I will do my best to bring this issue to the attention of Bath Council.

Trouble in Paradise?!!!

We are not alone with anti-social behaviour and youth violence. This week I was in Bermuda where I met with locals and was interviewed by the local TV presenter Ms Vivienne Craig of VSB TV. Island of Bermuda is plagued with youth violence and gun attacks similar to our Walcot Ward residents in Snow Hill, Bath. I would like to develope a link between our Bath PACT Forum and their community through Bermuda media and conscious music sang by local artist and martial arts pro-athlete Zenji "ZenjiSan" Ingham who has worked with my PR Firm as an Artist for many years. I look forward to collaborating and twinning with Bermuda on behalf of the Bath PACT Forum hence bringing solutions for our streets and our community.

It was an interesting meeting where I had the opportunity to discuss with two bus company heads and one bus users organization. FIRST, WESSEX CONNECT and BUS USERS UK. I will be corresponding with them all further in order to come up with a win win situation for all.

It was a glorious Sunday, we painted bollards and removed Graffiti again this time from The Royal Crescent! Outrageous!!!...what is this world coming to?! We as the World Heritage Volunteers Committee members are very passionate about the preservation of our beautiful historical buildings. Is Southgate dangling golden carrots infront of businesses?

Our city centre is becoming a living ghost town with every other shop closing..the interesting point is that they all seem to be moving to the SouthGate shopping centre...now could it be that SouthGate is giving a better deal to businesses than the council who owns more than 60% of the buildings in the city centre?! What are your thoughts on this?!

I've come across many young families of recent who wish to live a noble life, climb the real estate ladder and build a little nest egg, however there is the the impossible task of coming up with minimum of 20% down in order to get a mortgage certainly ousting the majority of average earners! We bailed the banks, now how about the banks being a little more mindful of young families too...what are your thoughts? Mandana :o/

Stamp Duty horror for millions!!

As a former estate agent for many years, I was shocked and dismayed to hear about the Stamp Duty reversion in January 2010 which I believe would drastically effect the sale of one's modest property or the affordability for new or first time buyers!! Due to this effect, vendors will be forced to reduce the prices of their homes once more giving false projection of property sales in our area hence giving false information to the general public!!!..This decision will certainly effect the UK economy as a whole!!..What are your thoughts?...Mandana

TOPIC: The Weir Steps off Pulteney Bridge is a diasater waiting to happen. The steps are run down, grimey and very dangerous on a wet day! [rain or snow]...Picture this...on a Rugby day thousand sof people go down this very windey slippery stairs and if one person falls then everyone else will fall like human dominos!

ACTION: Informed council on 13th October.

RESULT: Been promised that the issue will be delt with asap!

Graffiti on Binks Restaurant, Bath city centre.

TOPIC: Disgraceful Graffiti on Binks wall [between Cheap St & Abbey] Bath. As you may know graffiti attracts anti-social behaviour & crime

ACTION: I reported this disturbing graffiti to the council on Monday 12th Oct 2009. As a city center resident, business owner and community activist, I am passionate about making a difference by taking action instead of just talking...as they say in the States...'don't talk about it..be about it!'

RESULT: Wall cleaned on Wednesday 14th October! :o)
